I am interested in researching the degree to which a MOOC can fulfill the following user/learner expectations:

* searching
* exploring
* participating
* self-improving
* curating

The first four categories are based on research conducted by the Australian Council for Educational Research for the former Australian national technology agency Education.au in 2002 and the fifth ‘curation’ is a category that I believe is starting to emerge in discussions about online learning and particularly relevant for MOOCs.
